aol running man Head of AOL Networks resigns

Ned Brody, the Head of AOL Networks has resigned, leaving CEO Tim Armstrong in charge while a new permanent replacment is found.

It has been confirmed that Ned Brody, the head of AOL’s advertising division AOL Networks, is resigning. This comes following a report that Yahoo is nabbing him as head of sales for North America, a position which has been left vacant for a year. Following his departure, AOL’s CEO Tim Armstrong will be taking over Brody’s duties until a replacement has been found. At the same time, Peter Land is leaving Pepsico to become AOL’s new SVP of corporate communications.

Brody’s departure comes just two months after AOL announced two other big changes to its management: Artie Minson, COO of AOL is leaving (and taking the position with him; AOL will no longer have a COO). In addition, Susan Lyne will be joingin the company as the new CEO of AOL’s brand group.

Ned Brody has not been confirmed to be taking the new position at Yahoo, but chances are he will. America is Yahoo’s biggest market and the position he has been offered is an important one. At the time of his leaving, AOL Networks remains the smallest part of AOL, but it is also the fastest growing. In the fourth quarter of last year, AOL Networks brought in $183.4 million a whopping rise of 37%.
