Heatsink Showdown: Cooler Master V10 vs. Xigmatek Thor's Hammer

Reported by on Sunday, February 22 2009 9:09 pm

We take a look at 2 new CPU heatsinks from Cooler Master and Xigmatek - the TEC-enabled V10, and Thor's Hammer, which features Xigmatek's Heatpipe Direct Touch technology.

The box is the first hint of the size of the cooler - we can't remember the last time we saw a heatsink come in a box this big.

The motif on the V10's box is vaguely reminiscent of a certain Wachowski Brothers movie...

The V10 is safely encased within foam packaging.

Apart from the 4-pin fan connector for both 120mm fans, there is also a 4-pin molex power connector for the TEC module.

There are three distinct blocks of fins. One of the fans is sandwiched between two blocks of fins. The third set of fins has an unusual horizontal position, behind which (in the picture above) another fan resides.
