Hisense EG986 packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

Low-end Chinese phone maker Hisense hopes to make it big with their upcoming EG986 Smartphone. Interestingly, the said phone will launch later this year with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on-board.

Hisense E986 E980

Chinese phone maker Hisense is working on a high-end Smartphone which comes as a surprise as the company has primarily focused only on low-end devices in the past. The upcoming Hisense E986 will pack high-end specifications that will put most rival phones to shame. A 5 MP front camera is nothing to laugh at, add to that the claim that the E986 will launch with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean onboard.

Hisense E986 specifications:

  • MediaTek MT6589T Chipset
  • 1.5 GHz Quad-Core ARM Cortex A7 CPU
  • PowerVR SGX544 GPU
  • 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) OGS Display
  • 13 MP Rear Camera, 5 MP Front Camera
  • Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

The Hisense E986 is still under development and hence, far from a retail release. We don’t know if the inclusion of Android 4.3 is a mistake on the part of Hisense or a misreported piece of information, but if the handset launches sometime in Q4, it is entirely possible for it to come with a newer version of Android pre-installed. In addition to the E986, Hisense is working on a cheaper E980 model. The prime differences include a 2000 mAh battery, 8 MP front camera, 2 MP rear camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean onboard. Hisense will launch the E980 much sooner, according to the company, sometime in August.
