Hitachi launches Ultrastar SSD400M MLC SSD

Hitachi has launched its enterprise MLC SSD, Ultrastar SSD400M. It uses Intel's 25nm NAND and SSD technology. More details inside.

Hitachi launches Ultrastar SSD400M MLC SSD

Hitachi Ultrastar SSD400M SSD make use of the SAS 6Gbps interface allowing up to 495MB/s read speed (sequential 64k) and 385MB/s write speed (sequential 64k). Other features include 56,000 IOPS (random 4k read), 24,000 IOPS (random 4k write), 2 million hours in mean time between failure (MTBF) and 5.5W in typical power consumption. The Hitachi Ultrastar SSD400M SSD measures 100.6 x 70.1 x 15mm, weighs 187g and will be available in 200GB and 400GB capacities.
