Hitachi Ultrastar C10K300 To Save Power Consumption

(Impress) Hitachi Ultrastar C10K300 has now started shipping. It boasts a good energy savign consumption - idle mode at 3.4W, and 6.1W in operational mode.With the lowest power consumption available in Hitachi's line of products, the Ultrastar C10K300 comes in 147GB / 300GB models and comes in SAS interface at 6Gbps
With the lowest power consumption available in Hitachi's line of products, the Ultrastar C10K300 comes in 147GB / 300GB models with a 64MB buffer.
Interface used is SAS (Serial Attached SCSI), the disk rotation is at 10000rpm. The Ultrastar C10K300 is also pretty quiet with 29dB when in idle mode.
Average seek time and average rotational latency is 3.9ms and 3ms respectively
