HP has finally revealed availability info of its Omen X curved gaming monitor that it had announced last year.
The Omen X features a 35-inch curved display with 3440 x 1440 QHD resolution in a 21:9 aspect ratio. In addition to the impressive 1800R curvature, the monitor also boasts of very thin bezels on all sides, helping maximize immersion during gaming or even when viewing movies. The top and side bezels measure around 6.87mm, which means most of you will find it difficult even to notice the bezels clearly. Another gaming-oriented feature is support for NVIDIA’s G-SYNC variable refresh rate technology. The panel features a 100 Hz native refresh rate and a response time of 4ms, which is pretty decent for a gaming monitor. The panel itself is of the AMVA+ variety, so the contrast ratio will be significantly higher than monitors equipped with an IPS panel. HP claims 178-degree viewing angles, but since the monitor uses an AMVA+ panel, you shouldn’t expect viewing angles as strong as IPS monitors.
The stand is easily detachable, so users can opt for VESA mounting. It offers tilt (5-23 degrees) and height adjusments (5.12-inches). HP will begin selling the Omen X on March 12 in the US for a price of $1,299. It remains to be seen if HP will be bringing the Omen X to Singapore shores in the coming months.
