With the acquisition of Palm in April this year, HP has also acquired the Palm WebOS. The company has also mentioned it is developing tablets based on the WebOS, previously rumored to be called the HP Hurricane. With the filing of the trademark "PalmPad", the PalmPad tablet is scheduled to become available in September this year.

Industry analysts said that the WebOS tablet could stand to be iPad's biggest competitor, even though HP is believed to be also working on tablets based on Android and Windows operating system. But its still early to tell if the PalmPad can go head on with the Apple iPad, not till the actual product is out.
