HTC Droid Incredible 2 to get a silver-coloured variant?By TeamVR on August 1, 2011 12:10 pm@vrzone
Remember the news we posted a few days ago about Samsung apparently taking a page out of Apple's book by reportedly planning to release a white version of its popular Galaxy S II smartphone, much like what the Cupertino giant first did with its white iPhone 4? As it turns out, Samsung is not the only smartphone OEM to habour such plans, for recent online reports have claimed that HTC is also preparing to pull off the same "one-phone-two-colours" stunt with its HTC Droid Incredible 2 smartphone, but in silver instead of white.
Well, that certaintly did not take long. Barely three days after we published the report about what appears to be Samsung's plans to release a white coloured variant of its bestselling Galaxy S II smartphone, we have gotten word that at least one more OEM plans to hop on the "one-phone-two-colour" bandwagon in order to market its products to a greater variety of consumers. And the latest phone to get a comestic makeover comes in the form of HTC's Droid Incredible 2 smartphone, which will reportedly be offered in an additional silver-coloured variant, as shown in the image below.
According to a report published by PocketNow, the silver-coloured variant of the HTC Droid Incredible 2 smartphone, which is also known globally as the Incredible S, is expected to sport the same hardware specifications as its original black-bodied counterpart. This means that users can expect to see the silver-coloured Droid Incredible 2 boast the same single-core 1GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, a four-inch WVGA Super LCD screen and an eight-megapixel camera with dual flash LEDs that were originally present on its predecessor. However, unlike the white versions of the Galaxy S II and iPhone 4, the HTC Droid Incredible 2 appears to have retained its black bezel, ostensibly to give the smartphone a unique two-tone appeareance.
Last but definitely not least, no details about the silver-coloured Droid Incredible 2's bundled operating system has been revealed at this point of time, although it is speculated that there is a possibility that Verizon might just slap on version 2.3 of the Android operating system (aka Gingerbread) onto the smartphone right from the get go.
Pricing for the silver-coloured smartphone remains a mystery, although PocketNow claims that the phone, with its fairly dated specifations, will need to sport an attractive price tag if it wants to accumulate some decent market share.
