If there is any doubt about the existence of HTC’s first phablet, another round of images of the purported HTC One Max were spotted on the internet alongside Galaxy Note 3.
HTC One Max has seen its fair share of rumors in the past few weeks. Thanks to the rumor mill, we know almost every single detail about the alleged HTC One Max aka HTC 8088, including the specifications the phablet is expected to bring at the table as well as its design. The device will look quite similar to HTC One, but with a bigger screen. Now, another round of images surfaced from Weibo, showing us the purported HTC One Max alongside Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
There was a lot of confusion about the chipset HTC One Max is expected to come with. Earlier rumors suggested that the phablet will be powered by the all-powerful Snapdragon 800 SoC with Adreno 330 GPU. Later, all these rumors went down the drain when the all-knowing @evleaks posted that HTC One Max will come with a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 chipset clocked at 1.7GHz, while a number of rumors suggested that it could be Snapdragon 600. Based on the leaked AnTuTu results that popped up yesterday, it is safe to assume that HTC One Max will come with Snapdragon S4 Pro as it shows the clock speed of 1.7GHz. In case you don’t know, Snapdragon 600 chipset is clocked at 1.9GHz, so it’s totally out of the question.
Let’s do a quick recall. HTC One Max is rumored to feature a 5.9-inch Full HD display boasting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 5MP camera (most likely UltraPixel), a massive 3,300 mAh battery and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on top of it. Following Apple’s footsteps, the phablet is also expected to feature a fingerprint scanner, which has been seen in a number of leaked photos.
The alleged HTC One Max is rumored to launch sometime in October. Based on the frequency of the leaks, it seems as the Taiwanese manufacturer will soon announce the device very soon.
