HTC One Mini launches on Vodafone UK
Consumers in the United Kingdom can now buy the HTC One Mini through Vodafone. The One Mini features the same great design as the HTC One in a smaller form factor.
The HTC One Mini is available on contract starting at $51 (£33) a month. With the $51 plan, users get unlimited calls and text, 1 GB of 3G data along with the handset itself. The One Mini’s launch coincides with Vodafone’s rollout of its 4G services later this month on Aug. 29, with London chosen as the first city to get 4G. 4G plans for the One Mini start from $64 (£42), with users getting 2 GB of 4G data along with unlimited texts and calling, along with a free subscription to Spotify or Sky Sports Mobile.
The One Mini features a 4.3-inch 720p screen backed by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The handset comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip that includes a dual-core 1.4 GHz Krait 200 CPU along with an Adreno 305 GPU. In terms of memory, the One Mini has 1 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. It also comes with HTC’s revolutionary UltraPixel camera that has the ability to take great images in low-light conditions. The One Mini contains an 1,800 mAh battery and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the Sense 5 UI.
At Vodafone’s announcement, Graham Wheeler, HTC’s Director of Product Commercialisation, said, “With the HTC One mini, we really wanted to follow the pillars of design and technology that we have in the HTC One. We didn’t really want to create a different product, we just wanted to extend the family – to keep everything that was great with the HTC One and build on it.”
