HTC looks ready to roll out their Windows Phone 8X and 8S updates which look to push a few of the system apps a version ahead.
Here is some more smartphone update news for the weekend. It looks like HTC is about ready to roll out updates for their Windows Phone devices. Those are the Windows Phone 8X as well as the Windows Phone 8S. What this update looks to do is move a few of the system apps to later versions.
There isn’t a lot of information to detail here but the apps that will be updated are:
- Beats Audio goes to 3.5
- Attentive Phone goes to 2.5
- Regulatory goes to 1.3
There isn’t any official change log for what these updates could entail for the time being, but improvements are always welcome. If you’re an owner of these devices and aren’t entirely sure what these features are, the rundown goes something like this.
Beats Audio is an easy one: it promises a better sound experience on your smartphone. Attentive Phone gives the device the ability to respond to changes in the environment using its variety of sensors. Phone Arena offers the example of the phone knowing to ring louder when it’s in your pocket using the proximity sensor. Finally, Regulatory doesn’t really do much other than show the regulatory information for your device. Not terribly exciting on that front.
Regardless, more support from manufacturers is always a good thing.
