Huawei announces availability of new Vision smartphone
Huawei has announced the availability of its new Android-powered Vision smartphone for consumers. Sporting what the company calls a new “3D carousel user-interface, the Vision is touted as a smartphone which is capable of offering consumers the “perfect combination of technology and style” in a single package. More details, after the break…
Are you thinking of replacing your current mobile phone with a new Android-powered smartphone to keep yourself up to date with the Android ecosystem, but are also feeling adventurous enough to try out a product that is not produced by the likes of typical big-name players such as Samsung, LG or Sony Ericsson? If so, you might probably be interested with Huawei's upcoming Vision smartphone, which has been touted to be capable of providing consumers the “perfect combination of technology and style” in a single package.
According to the official press release issued by Huawei, the new Vision smartphone sports a uni-body design which is crafted out of an aluminum alloy, and will be available in three different colours for consumers to choose from, namely “rose gold, silver or charcoal”. The smartphone will also reportedly boast a thickness of only 9.9mm (from its thinnest point) and weights approximately 121 grams. Which, in Huawei's words, is lighter than a bottle of perfume or aftershave.
That being said, the Vision is anything but lacking on the hardware side of things. According to the company, the Vision sports a five-megapixel camera which is capable of recording videos at 720p resolutions, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255-1 system-on-a-chip featuring a CPU core clocked at 1GHz provides the Vision with its data crunching capabilities. Also provided in the package are built-in support for wireless connectivity via Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi.
Last but definitely not least, Huawei has claimed that the Vision makes use of a unique 3D interface which makess iit easier for users to navigate through their apps, and that a variety of popular games such as Angry Birds, Asphalt 6, Adrenaline, Order & Chaos Online and Guerrilla Bob HD will be preloaded onto the device.
No specific details about the Vision's pricing and availability has been released by Huawei, although the company has confirmed that the smartphone will be rolled out to selected markets come September this year.
