Quite contrary to what the company originally declared, Huawei may indeed be working on an Ascend P6 Google Edition Smartphone.
Taking a 180-degree U-turn to what the company’s chairman had initially declared on stage, Huawei may indeed working on a Google Edition handset of their newest flagship Ascend P6 Android Smartphone. Kevin Ho, president – handset product division told Pocket-Lint that Huawei is collaborating with Google on an Ascend P6 Google Edition that will run on stock Android OS and of course, be sold via Google Play Store in the US contract-free.
“We are working with Google to analyse the possibility of bringing out a Huawei Ascend P6 with Google Edition,” Ho told Pocket-lint in a one-to-one briefing.
This only makes us all confused considering what the company chairman and handset product division president are saying are complete opposites of one another. Earlier, chairman Yu stated that Huawei’s Emotion UI is far superior to Google’s stock Android UI. With over 100’s of improvements, users are guaranteed a better experience with Emotion UI instead.
Emotion UI 1.6 on the Huawei Ascend P6
With the Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Edition handsets already out, would you like to see a Huawei Ascend P6 Google Edition too? We would like to remind you that the Ascend P6 is the world’s slimmest Android powered Smartphone on sale, at just 6.18 mm thickness. Personally, I would like more Google Edition handsets, but would like for them to release in countries other than the US. I was expecting to see an Xperia Z GE before any other phone, but an Ascend P6 would be an amazing addition to the line-up too.
What do you think? Do you want the Huawei Ascend P6 Google Edition?
