I-O Data has jumped onto the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed bandwagon with the announcement of its new HDJ-UT external hard drive, USB3-PEX PCI-Express x1 two port low-profile expansion card, and USB3-EXC ExpressCard 34 card.

Available in 1Tb and 1.5Tb capacities, the HDJ-UT is fully backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports (at slower speeds) and boasts transfer speeds of up to 139 MB/s on USB 3.0 ports. Both the B3-PEX and USB3-EXC expansion cards feature two USB 3.0 ports, with the USB3-PEX for use on desktops (PCIe x1 interface) and USB3-EXC for laptops/netbooks (ExpressCard slot). Available at major retails stores and e-tailers now, the HDJ-UT retails at a MSRP of USD$231 (1Tb) and USD$279 (1.5Tb), while the USB3-PEX and USB3-EXC is priced at USD$69 and USD$93 respectively.
