IDF : Tulsa Wafer Exposed

Intel is on track to deliver the 65nm Tulsa, a dual-core Xeon MP
processor with 16MB L3 shared cache and 2 x 1MB L2 cache in H2 2006, replacing
Paxville MP. Tulsa will be part of the Truland platform featuring VT and
Pellston Technology and will be branded as Intel Xeon 7000 series. In the recent
IDF, Intel for the first time has showed the wafer containing the Tulsa dies and
and here’s an exclusive close up on how the Tulsa die will look like. Tulsa will
be replaced by quad-core Tigerton in 2007 featuring dedicated high-speed
interconnect between the chipset and the individual cores.
