Intel showed off an interesting concept notebook - with three small touchscreen sub-displays right above the keyboard, in addition to the main display. More next page.

Intel demonstrates concept notebook with 4 displays

The main display works just like any laptop, but we have three additional displays for background information. Because it is a touchscreen, these displays offer great flexibility, even allowing the user to drag the application back to the main display.

These sub-displays could be very useful for applications like media playback, preview windows, widgets/gadgets, RSS feeds, or any other application you would need to monitor frequently, without having to switch windows between your main application. You could even keep track of your mail while playing a game, for example.

Obviously, this is just a prototype, but it'll be interesting to see such a notebook out in the market. Maybe not three, but even one small sub-display could be quite helpful to a lot of us.
