Intel Dual-Core Smithfield To Launch In Q2

Intel has indicated the pricing of its first dual-core Smithfield
processors for the desktop, which will be launched in the second quarter instead
of the third quarter as originally planned. However, general availability of the
dual-core CPUs is only expected to start in the third quarter. Three versions of
the dual-core CPU, with clock speeds of 2.8, 3.0 and 3.2GHz, will be available
at US$ 241, US$ 316 and US$ 530 as model numbers 820, 830 and 840, respectively.
