Pricing to start at $310 and a release date of September 10 expected.
According to information given to major retailers from Intel, the company will push out a new batch of Ivy Bridge – E — the Core i7-4960X, Core i7-4930K and Core i7-4820K — chips on the X79 platform come September 10.
Pricing for these new additions to the Ivy Bridge family will start at $310 and run all the way up to $990.
These chips will use the LGA 2011 pin, and will be compatible with existing motherboards after a BIOS update.
The Core i7-4960X will pack six cores at 3.6GHz with a 15 Mb Smart Cache, while the Core i7-4930K will have six cores at 3.4GHz with a 12 Mb cache. Finally, the Core i7-4820K will pack four cores at 3.7GHz and will have a 10 Mb Smart Cache.
