Seems like Intel is at it and we won’t be seeing anything much of a big difference in the netbook sector although Intel recently outlined its plans for traditional notebook, CULV-based ultra-thin notebook which might be a lil interesting for you.

Seems like Intel is at it and we won’t be seeing anything much of a big difference in the netbook sector although Intel recently outlined its plans for traditional notebook, CULV-based ultra-thin notebook which might be a lil interesting for you.

Intel’s next-generation Calpella notebook platform will launch in the third quarter of 2009 targeting models in the 14.0-, 15.6-, 17.1- and 18.4-inch segments at retail prices of above US$1,200 for the high-end market.

Meanwhile, Intel will also reduce the price of the Montevina platform to clear out inventory, which is a good news in a way.

Netbooks, however won’t be seeing anything new despite having N280 around. Rather, sources indicates that due to the low market demand, Intel is considering phasing out Atom N280 and GN40 chipset combination for netbooks (ouch!) and will leave the Atom N270 and 945GSE chipset at least till September this year.
