Reported by on Saturday, January 24 2009 3:29 am

Intel has released a series of low power quad core processors to the market on 18th of January at a lower TDP of 65W instead of 95W. This enables quad core scalability for 65W optimized platforms and allows quad core performance to Small Form Factor and All In One market segments. As such, the low power quad core are priced at a premium to their similarly clocked counterparts. There are plans to release Q8300s in Q2 2009 and low power Lynnfield in Q1 2010.
