Intel’s plan to push its Santa Rosa platform, scheduled for launch at the beginning of May under the notebook-platform brands Centrino Pro and Centrino Duo, as a Viiv branded desktop platform too. PC makers such as AOpen, Sony and Shuttle have used MoDT platforms to create small form factor systems targeted primarily at noise or space sensitive environments, such as SOHO and living room PC markets. Intel will launch Santa Rosa supporting Intel T7000-series processors (T7100, T7300, T7500 and T7700) which support higher 800MHz FSB speeds, in the first week of May with price ranging from US$ 209 to US$ 530.
