Intel is teaming up with retailers like HSN, Kraft Foods and Macy's to offer an enhanced shopping experience through digital signage.

Intel is teaming up with retailers like HSN, Kraft Foods and Macy's to offer an enhanced shopping experience through digital signage.

 
The stores are using Intel's second-generation Core processors to create visual displays and interactive screens, which brings in-store advertising to a whole new level. Intel is also offering its Audience Impression Metric Suite, which will change the content on display to suit the demographic of the viewing customer, giving them a more personalised experience.
 
Kraft Foods joined forces with Intel to develop the DIJI-TASTE Sampling Experience, which distributes product samples based on the consumer demographic. 
 
Macy's worked with Intel to develop the Beauty Spot, a terminal that assists shoppers in finding and evaluating cosmetics and fragrances. Information from this can also be downloaded directly to the consumer's mobile phone.
 
HSN employed the Intel CPUs in its huge interactive touchwall, which it is using to offer a virtual cooking class by Wolfgang Puck to its customers.

Intel is working with these industry leaders to drive the transformation of shopping through high-tech retail solutions that will change how brands engage and connect with shoppers.”
 
E-signage is an area that has only barely been tapped, but many companies see great potential in it, including Samsung, which today announced a 46-inch transparent display that could be used for this purpose.
