Intel to utilise 18 inch wafer by year 2012

Intel’s marketing director, Mark Bohr, addressed that Intel will start utilising 450mm 18inch wafers between 2011 and 2012. Intel is currently using 300mm 12 inch wafers for processor fabrication whilst AMD is still on 8 inch wafers, and AMD will only start utilising 12inch wafers in the year 2006.
