While there hasn’t been much improvement in an iOS 7 jailbreak release, the latest incremental update doesn’t dampen the prospects.

iOS 7 jailbreak

A few days back Apple released iOS 7.0.4 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This is an incremental update that brings a few bug fixes and performance improvements and also fixes an issue with FaceTime that might have caused calls to drop. There’s nothing new in the update apart from that. iOS 7 users who have been restraining from installing the update, thinking that it might hurt a possibility of a jailbreak need not worry, well known jailbreak developer MuscleNerd has confirmed that iOS 7.0.4 update doesn’t affect jailbreak prospects.

It should be kept in mind that iOS 7.0.4 is good for those who’re running any build of iOS 7, not iOS 6. Unlike the latest firmware, several builds of iOS 6 are capable of being jailbroken. MuscleNerd says that those users who are currently on any iOS 6 firmware and are jailbroken should not update to iOS 7.0.4 as there’s no way to downgrade firmware after that. Updating to the latest firmware would mean that they’ll lose their jailbreak.

The last update about the iOS 7 jailbreak development process came back in October, when another well known developer Planetbeing said that they’re still working hard on the jailbreak. No release timeframe has been provided as of now.
