it is not unusual to see purported leaked internal components ahead of an imminent launch of a next generation Apple device. Today we get to see the power and audio control cable that allegedly belong to the iPhone 5S.
This latest leak joins the laundry list of components and parts of this device that have already been leaked. Even though we have seen these leaks on a regular basis, it is still not enough to confirm that these components and parts do actually belong to Apple’s next generation iPhone. For all we know these components might actually be from an early prototype of the iPhone 5S that hasn’t made it to mass production.
The photo of both flex cables was published online by French site Nowhereelse, which claims that these components surfaced in Japan via a Moumantai retailer. As previously mentioned, there’s no way to judge the authenticity of these components, but they are definitely different from the two flex cables for power and audio control in the iPhone 5. So they are indeed for an unreleased iPhone, no one can say for sure which one.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 5 in September. Alongside it, the company is also rumored to launch the low cost iPhone, widely known these days as the iPhone Lite.
