latter half of the year to consolidate its market lead. iRiver showcased
prototypes of models T20, T30 and innovative U10 on top of its two recent
releases _ H10 Junior and T10. U10 is the fruition of an ambitious project
called “Columbus Egg.’’ The most notable trait of U10, which will be released
in 1-gigabyte and 512-megabyte models in early August, is the extremely simple
user interface. ReignCom developed new-concept interface called “direct click
system’’ and plans to patent the direct touch interface technology. U10 supports
3D flash games, text files, electronic books, alarm-enabled real time clock, and
can play video, movie and animation files. The retail price of the 512-MB U10 is
tentatively fixed at US$ 283 and the 1-GB model at US$ 336. . Also unveiled were
T10 that boasts playtime of 53-hour straight and H10 junior, which is about the
size of a Zippo lighter, a metro-looking USB dangle-type T20 and spacecraft-like
