Just about everyone in the gaming sphere is looking forward to Rockstar’s upcoming new release in the definitive Grand Theft Auto franchise, and there’s been a ton of speculation regarding a possible PC iteration and even a next-gen release of GTA V.
The listing itself calls for an Environment Artist who’s chief duties will include designing and building a virtual world and to learn skills that will “get the most from next-gen consoles”:
“We’d like to hear from the industry’s most talented environment artists.
You will be designing, building and texturing the world, have the technical knowledge to achieve great looking results and the skill to get the most from next-gen consoles.”
This may indicate that Rockstar is beginning development on a new Grand Theft Auto title, or maybe GTA V for next-gen consoles–which the gaming world is clamoring for–however the game in question may just be another chapter in the Max Payne franchise or perhaps a new standalone IP.
In any case, we may hear more in the next coming months when Sony and Microsoft release their next-gen contenders–and, of course, after Grand Theft Auto V is released onto the gaming market in September.
Until we have more news on the mysterious open-world next-gen game, be sure to check out our recent coverage of GTA V–including screenshots and the newly released gameplay reveal–and head on over to Rockstar’s official website for more information.
