Nintendo has confirmed that on a Nintendo Direct video that will air before E3, they will be discussing not only Mario Kart and 3D Mario, but also the next Super Smash Bros. title.
Nintendo has a long way to go when it comes to revitalizing the Wii U in terms of sales. One thing everybody can agree on when it comes to strategy is that they simply need more games. There have been rumors for a while now that Nintendo is preparing quite a few titles to show off in some way come E3 time, and now Iwata is confirming this is the case.
Nintendo of America’s twitter account posted the following:
Nintendo will be holding their own Nintendo Direct before E3, where they will detail not only the next 3D Mario game and the next Mario Kart, but also the next Super Smash Bros., which is expected to come out for both the Wii U and the 3DS. It’s likely that the version that will be discussed will be the Wii U version, but we may end up hearing about both.
The consensus seems to be that Smash Bros. is further off than the other two titles, so it remains to be seen whether or not they’ll be showing any gameplay of the title. The other should definitely have a lot more to see. We’re only weeks away from E3, so we won’t have to wait long to discover the future of games on the Wii U.
