Chinese phone maker JiaYu is working hard at their first true high-end smartphone. Dubbed the JiaYu S1, a leaked AnTuTu benchmarks suggest the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 SoC to power the 5-inch 1080p display.
Over the last year and half, JiaYu has gained much popularity in the Chinese market (and soon to formally enter developing markets such as India) thanks to their well-built JiaYu G3 smartphone. The 2013 JiaYu G4 has also been making the rounds for a solidly built, good-looking MediaTek MT6589 powered budget quad-core phone. But being the poor man’s dream phone maker isn’t the limit for this ambitious company and a leaked AnTuTu benchmark only goes on to testify the same.
The images compare the JiaYu S1 to the G4, showing off the thin bezel and compact dimensions of the 5-inch phone.
A near 24,000 score in AnTuTu is right in line with the HTC One, which packs a Snapdragon 600 chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz. The rest of the phone specifications are largely unknown save for the 5-inch 1080p display. We fully expect a 2000 mAh+ battery, 13 MP camera and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean onboard (as well as a $300+ price tag) when JiaYu finally launches their flagship S1 smartphone (which should happen in the next few weeks).
