Will Solid Snake rise again in this new R-rated trailer from Konami?
Hideo Kojima has always been a cinematic game developer. From his early days back on the NES up until now, he hass strived for that bridge between video games and cinema. The new trailer for Metal Gear Solid V definitely has that cinematic touch with quick edits, over-the-top dialogue and some sweet explosions, but before the trailer starts, the editors have included the Redband warning. For those who are unaware of the Redband significance, the colour and warning is synonymous with R-rated or adult features in the United States. Here’s the new trailer:
The 9 minute trailer is a Godsend to fans of the series as we see Snake take on a new mission but in a different time and setting. This time around Solid Snake, now voiced by Kiefer Sutherland, will be taking revenge for fallen and tortured comrades. The game will take place in the year of 1984 and will feature an open-world design for everyone’s favourite stealth artist to sneak through. The trailer features some interesting looking situations including African child soldiers, dying friends and some incredible new features and gameplay mechanics.
Between the dramatic cutscenes, MGSV will feature a realistic day/night cycle, dynamic gameplay, real-time weather and a few cool new vehicles that Snake can travel around with while looking at his cool new digital watch. The game has no official release date but may be out by 2014. The game will be on the current gen consoles, PS3 and 360, but will also run on PS4 and Xbox One.
