2561 27 LaCie Unveils New Server Technology

Lacie is launching a new Microsoft Windows Home Server platform based network storage server, targeting small business setups. Showcased for the first time in a live demonstration at CES 2010, the
server has five replaceable HDDs, data protection support and is
equipped with Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0 ports for connections to
external devices. By integrating Microsoft and LaCie technologies into
the server, users can now backup their data automatically to a single
server securely locally and remotely (LaCie’s Wuala technology). Stay
tuned for more details as more information becomes available in the
coming days!

“Our aim with this technology demonstration is to show that by teaming
with Microsoft and through our Wuala cloud storage technology, we can
provide an enterprise-grade, data protection solution with both local
backup and off-site replication in one low-cost, compact system,” said
Erwan Girard, Solutions Business Unit Manager. “By leveraging the
groundbreaking Wuala cloud technology, which ensures the highest speed
in data upload and download, our server will provide truly usable
cloud-based data backup and restore to accommodate the large amounts of
data generated by small businesses.”
