Lian Li is once again looking to new form factors with its new desk chassis offerings: the DK-01X, DK-02X and the DK-Q1X.

dk 024 Lian Lis DK 01X and the DK 02X desk chassis announced, DK Q1X set to launch soon

After unveiling the DK01 prototype earlier this year, Lian Li has launched two models in the series: the DK-01X and the DK-02X. Both hybrid chassis are constructed out of aluminium and come with a glass top that allows you to showcase your creations. They also feature a lockable sliding draw that gives you easy access to the internal hardware.

VR-Zone’s Sam Reynolds was on hand at the unveiling to get an exclusive first look at the chassis:

The X in the naming convention of both models signifies the black color variation. A silver color variant with the model numbers DK-01 and DK-02 might be available later this year. Both chassis have a height of 805 mm, which can be raised to 835 mm. video cards in length 410 mm can fit in comfortably as well as CPU coolers up to 180 mm in height.

Both the DK-01X and the DK-02X feature a removable keyboard tray in addition to a side mounted pocket that contains a headphone rack. As the chassis is built into the desk, you can accommodate even the largest of motherboards, like the HPTX form factor, which measures 345 × 381 mm. E-ATX boards in comparison measure 305 × 330 mm. The DK-02X, thanks to its larger size (1250 mm width against 900 mm on the DK-01X), can accommodate an HPTX board in addition to a mini-ITX board at the same time.

The DK-01X has four USB 3.0 headers in front of the sliding draw along with HD audio connectors, while the DK-02X has a total of eight USB 3.0 headers, four  for each system. Also located at the front is an optical drive bay that can house an SSD. At the back, there is a provision for installing up to three monitor mounts. You can also fit in ten 3.5-inch drives in the DK-01X and eight 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drives in one system and nine 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drives in the second system on the DK-02X.

In addition to the DK-01X and the DK-02X, Lian Li is working on a third desk chassis, the DK-Q1X. The DK-Q1X is unannounced as of now, and will likely be the entry-level offering in the series once it goes an official release date. With a width of 700 mm and height of 500 mm (which can be extended to 530 mm), the DK-Q1X is also the smallest of the lot.

Both the DK-01X and the DK-02X will be available in the US region at the end of July, with the DK-01X retailing for $989 and the DK-02X for $1189. The chassis will make their European debut at the beginning of August for around $1010 (Euro 749 /£599) for the DK-01X and $1220 (Euro 899 /£729). There is no availability information for the DK-Q1X yet.
