Leaked Dell roadmap reveals 3 new smartphones and 6 tablet devices for 2011/2012

Leaked documents show Dell has planned for three smartphones (Android and Windows Phone 7) and six tablet devices which are based on Android 3.0 Honeycomb and Windows platform this year and early 2012.

2011 looks to be the year of tablet devices and smartphones, and things are looking to be more exciting and competitive for manufacturers. Recently, a leaked Dell document indicates that the company has planned three new smartphones and six tablet devices for the next 12 months.

For the smartphones, a Venue Pro MLK (Windows Phone 7) is scheduled to be available in the April-to-May time frame with "additional features and enhancements"; the "Wrigley" Windows Phone 7 with QWERTY keyboard, 1GHz processor, 4-inch WVGA screen, 8-megapixel camera and 720p high definition video recording capabilities will be available in July. An Android phone "Hancock" that runs Android upcoming Ice Cream, comes with dual-core processor, 4-inch qHD display, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, support 1080p videos will arrive in August or September. Another Android Ice Cream-based smartphone with dual-core processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, 8-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera, DLNA and supports 1080p videos is scheduled for October, and is codenamed "Millennium".

As for the tablet devices, "Gallo" that runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb is coming this April, while the Windows 7-based "Rosemount" that supports 1366x768 resolution is scheduled for June. After that, the company will have the refresh Streak 7 MLK Android tablet in June/July before the "Sterling" Android 3.0 Honeycomb comes in October. The Gallo MLK with hardwriting features will also arrive around October. Three tablets, Android Honeycomb-based "Silver Oak" and "Opus One", and Windows 8 "Peju" are scheduled for early 2012.
