A leaked carrier document has confirmed that the Sony Xperia Z1 mini will indeed be the “mini” Android handset with flagship specs that people have been clamoring for.
The Xperia Z1 mini is expected to carry much of the same hardware as the Xperia Z1 in a more compact body, and the document confirms that it will indeed be powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor. The screen size is listed as 4.3-inch though without any resolution, so it’s likely the display will be a 720p unit, which shouldn’t be a problem considering the small screen size.
The Xperia Z1 mini is also rumored to sport a 20.7-megapixel camera with G Lens (like the Xperia Z1’s), 2GB of RAM, and the latest version of Android. Supposedly slated for an official announcement at CES next year, the Xperia Z1 mini is looking to be that flagship phone that lovers of small screens will grab the first chance they get, which, hopefully, will see other manufacturers following suit.
