Marvel's most famous super heroes cross over to the LEGO universe with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, launching on multiple platforms this fall.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes brings some of the most iconic and well-known superheroes of the Marvel Universe to life in LEGO's distinct block-form, allowing gamers to use their favorite characters from the legendary comic-book world to thwart evil and save the day–and look good doing it.
LEGO's newly announced game boasts the highest number of Marvel super heroes in a console game, featuring over 100 characters from a myriad of legendary series such as Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and more.
Set in Marvel's expansive universe, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes features an original story arc wherein Nick Fury calls upon some of Marvel's most distinguished heroes to save the world from the villainous grasp of such infamous baddies such as Loki (Thor's estranged half-brother) and Galactus, Devourer of Worlds.
The story isn't all just doom and gloom, though; LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is jam-packed with a signature blend of humor and family-friendly action, which has been a staple of all LEGO video games such as the Harry Potter series, Star Wars games, or the Lord of the Rings releases.
The game also features a dynamic array of game mechanics and features including epic boss battles, puzzle solving, character-specific abilities, combat-like action sequences and more to deliver an exciting gameplay experience worthy of the Marvel Universe.
TT Games is developing the game with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment handling the publishing, and is currently slated for a multi-platform release for PC, consoles, and handhelds in Q3-Q4 2013.
Tom Stone, Managing Director for TT Games Publishing, had this to say about LEGO's newest release:
“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes," Tom begins.
“Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”
According to TQ Jefferson, Vice President of Games Production for Marvel Entertainment, fans have been waiting for a LEGO game set in the iconic comicbook universe for quite some time:
“Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game.
If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”
