Lenovo has announced its latest ThinkPad laptop computer, touting it as the thinnest and lightest model yet.

The ThinkPad T431s is powered by Intel third-generation Core processors, Intel HD Graphics, and up to 12 GB of RAM. HDD or SSD options are available, and the laptop comes with a 14-inch HD+ anti-glare display, with a resolution of 1600×900. Two USB 3.0 ports are also provided.

Style is also the name of the game, with Lenovo spending nine months researching what users need and want in a laptop. The results are a new refined design that include a new trackpad with click functionality and an ultrathin display bezel.

The keyboard has also been revamped, with better key placement. The new trackpad uses TrackPoint for customised behaviour, and the multi-touch display is optimised for Windows 8 gestures.

The device weighs in at just 1.63kg and measures just 20.6mm in thickness. It also features Lenovo's traditional carbon fiver top cover and magnesium exterior, for business-class durability.

The ThinkPad T431s will launch in April, with a starting price of $949.
