Lenovo has recently announced the launch of their new tablet devices which come in the form of the IdeaPad K1, IdeaPad P1 and ThinkPad Tablet. The IdeaPad K1 and ThinkPad Tablet are powered by Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system, while the IdeaPad P1 runs Microsoft Windows 7.
Lenovo IdeaPad K1
Lenovo has announced the launch of their first tablet devices – the IdeaPad K1 (or LePad K1 in China) designed for consumers, ThinkPad tablet for the business professionals, and the Windows-based IdeaPad P1 for homes and offices. Both the new IdeaPad K1 and ThinkPad tablet run Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb and the K1 claims to be the first Android tablet device to incorporate Netflix video streaming.
The 10.1-inch 32GB IdeaPad K1 is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and preloaded with over 40 applications including SocialTouch. It is scheduled to be available in selected retail stores in USA from 20 July, early August in China and Q3 worldwide. The 16GB Wi-Fi version of the ThinkPad Tablet can be preordered in USA from 2 August or through online via Lenovo website, will be available in China by end August, and worldwide in Q3. The IdeaPad P1 is schedule to ship worldwide in Q4.
Lenovo IdeaPad K1 Tablet
The IdeaPad K1 weighs less than 0.74 kg and features integrated Bluetooth and 802.11 Wi-Fi connectivity, 1280×800 high definition (HD) display and mini HDMI interface to output 1080p full HD videos to TV or monitor. It is also preloaded with more than 40 apps including Netflix, Amazon, Adobe, Electronic Arts, Rovio, Zinio and Dataviz, as well as popular applications including Need for Speed ??Shift, Angry Birds and Kindle e-book reader. With Flash 10.3, you can enjoy watching online videos and also purchase or rent movies via digital rights management (DRM). Lenovo has included their unique Social Touch app for users to access their friends and social networking sites all in one place. The IdeaPad K1 also comes with 2-megapixel front and 5-megapixel rear cameras.
Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet
The ThinkPad Tablet combines the superior media and entertainment features of the IdeaPad K1 with ThinkPad's renowned security and reliability. It has a precision pressure pen, USB connector, SD card slot and HDMI port for video output. Weighing approximately 0.75kg, the ThinkPad Tablet sports a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) IPS touchscreen display and is preloaded with DataViz's Documents to Go for opening Microsoft Office documents.
Lenovo IdeaPad P1
Running Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, the 10.1-inch IdeaPad P1 is powered by 1.5GHz Intel processor and is designed to handle office documents or for users to browse and edit photos easily. The IdeaPad P1 supports Flash and with Microsoft Security Essentials, it offers superb protection against malware and viruses. The Lenovo tablet measure 14.5mm thick and weighs about 0.9kg which makes it good enough for use in home, office or on-the-move.
