The laptop's keyboard has a "modernized" look and feel which the company claims would allow users to type 25% faster, and they are backlit that makes it easier to type even in dim-lighting situation. The power button and audio controls are laid neatly on the right edge of the keyboard.
Despite it's slim form factor, the X1 comes with the obligatory USB, HDMI, eSATA+USB, LAN, Wireless connectivity switch and memory card reader. Needless to say, there is no built-in optical drive, though Lenovo bundles an external DVD writer for use with the laptop.
