This afternoon, Lenovo Singapore held a media event to showcase their latest ThinkPad X100e and ThinkPad Edge ultraportable laptops, which were announced at the CES in Las Vegas last week.
Lim Fang Min, Asean Notebook Product Manager for Lenovo, was there to give a presentation on the ThinkPad X100e and ThinkPad Edge.
“The ThinkPad X100e is a professional grade entry level ultraportable that offers exceptional portability and usability at a very affordable price. The price starts at S$1000 and is the cheapest ultraportable ThinkPad you can get. The ThinkPad Edge is another class of ThinkPad targeted at the SMB users who
want affordability and reliability, and at the same time retain the
characteristics of the ThinkPad classic.”
Both the ThinkPad X100e and Thinkpad Edge (above picture) are fairly lightweight though both do not have a built-in optical drive. If you need to read your DVD discs, you would have to purchase the external USB version.
Lenovo has removed some keys on the keyboard and placed the “Page Up” and “Page Down” buttons at the two sides from the directional keypad. The manufacturer has also provided both the touchpad and pointing stick for users who prefer the latter especially.
