LG Announced Android Tablet, To Be Available in Q4

LG Electronics has announced a new Android tablet that will be launched in Q4 this year. According to news sources, the Korean manufacturer has showcased a 10.1-inch tablet at the Taipei's Computex Show in June. The tablet was reported to be equipped with Intel Atom Z530 processor and running Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

But with the Android tablet announcement, it is speculated that LG may have dropped the Microsoft operating system in favor of Google's mobile OS instead. Regardless, the announcement is timely as LG's rival, Samsung, has unveiled their Galaxy Tab, and Huawei has showcased their 7-inch tablet at CommunicAsia 2010 in Singapore, and both are running the Android OS.
