Who’s ready for a new, exciting round of LG G2-related rumors? You know the G2, LG confirmed it not long ago as the highly anticipated full-blown successor to last year’s first-gen Optimus G (the G Pro was apparently an intermediary device).

This G2 emerged in a few blurry live photos some time ago, was subsequently spotted in an unofficial benchmark and tipped to pack some dreamy specs last week. On top of it all, rumor had it the thing was to see daylight on August 7, as part of a mysterious New York press event.

Well, that event has just been (nearly) confirmed to be about the G2, courtesy of press invites sent out by LG and a video teaser posted on YouTube. Both materials stress out the “Great 2 Have You” message, which appears cryptic, but it’s not. That’s because the letter “G” is highlighted, and, along with the using of the number “2”, it’s easy to guess what’s in store.

But that’s actually not the biggest story of today. The G2 has also again smiled graciously for Mr. Blurrycam, showing off its sexy body from all angles. We have a view of the front, one of the phone’s behind and a very quick side pic.

Not much can be said about the phone after looking at these photos however, since their quality is… well, awful. The bezels are, as expected, very slim, the volume buttons are on the back and, all in all, the G2 appears to be sleek and robust all at the same time.

What could be of more interest is one of the sources of these new pics claims to have intel on a few specs as well. Namely, the battery is said to be a removable 2,600 mAh unit and there’s also LTE-Advanced support, meaning the G2 could land first and foremost in South Korea (maybe as soon as this month).

In a nutshell, you can say things are developing really fast on the LG front, which is why my advice for you is to keep a close eye on our website for updates. We’ll be in touch again soon, I promise you.
