LG just unveiled the G2 at its New York event. The G2 is the successor to last year’s Optimus G, and as leaked earlier, comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800.

The design of the G2 features the power and volume buttons on the back of the device, which is a first for LG. Otherwise, the G2 comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD screen, the Snapdragon 800 with a 2.26 GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU along with a much faster Adreno 330. The chipset also comes with LTE Advanced, and has been tested to be 75% more energy efficient than the Snapdragon S4 Pro.

Other hardware features include 2 GB RAM, 16/32 GB internal memory variations, a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization at the back and a 2.1MP camera at the front along with a 3,000 mAh battery. The G2 also comes with HiFi playback (24 bit/192kHz).

LG will start the G2 rollout across global markets over the next eight weeks, and the handset will make its way to all four major U.S. carriers.
