LG has just finished polishing off an update for the user interface on its Android 4.0-running smartphones which while not bringing anything all that remarkable to the table, does carry with it a number of convenient additions which LG says will help make users' lives easier in getting tasks done with a faster and simpler interface overall.

Dubbed Optimus UI 3.0, one of the key components of the new UI is an enhanced Quick Memo feature, allowing the user to produce quick notes using their fingers. These notes can then be shared via social networks, email, or sent as a txt message.

Other additions comprise an icon customiser for adjusting the look of certain app's icons, an extra Download category for less limiting and easier organisation methods as well as a new Voice Shutter feature which allows the user to take a photo simply by yelling a command at the device.

In polishing off the update, some other minor additions were thrown in including the ability to unlock the phone by dragging anywhere on the screen and a new camera feature that helps you pick the best photo among multiples.

The Optus UI 3.0 update from LG will be a part of the Optimus LTE II smartphone, scheduled for launch next week in Korea. Following that, the update will be made available for the quad core LG Optimus 4X HD launching next month.
