Today, LG has officially announced a new smartphone called the Optimus GJ in Taiwan. Their latest device looks like it intends to compete with the likes of the Xperia Z, because one of the main new features of the device is water and dust resistance. As for the rest of the phone, it looks to be an upgraded version of the Optimus G, and it carries the following specs.
- 4.7 inch 720p display
- 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 13 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing
- 16GB internal storage
- 2280 mAh battery
- Android version 4.1.2
- Water resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes
When it comes to pricing and availability, the phone is now available in Taiwan at a price of TWD 17990 (just over $600). There’s no word on when LG plans to release the phone globally (if at all), so if you’re interested and overseas, your best bet is to import the slick looking device or wait it out.
