Logitech introduces “UE Boom”, new Bluetooth speaker for $199

Logitech is now selling a new Bluetooth speaker called UE Boom. It offers much improved battery life, water and stain resistance, and many other features. The price is $199 and it's available now in the U.S. and Europe.

Today, Logitech UE (‘Ultimate Ears’ for the unfamiliar) has introduced a new Bluetooth speaker they have dubbed “UE BOOM”. Logitech is boasting that this is the first social music player in the world, saying that “UE BOOM is the 360º speaker that drops bold, immersive sound in every direction. Rage, riot, party and play the music you love, out loud.”

You’ll be able to accomplish those things with the UE BOOM’s 360-degree sound and 15 hours of rechargeable battery life, which 9to5mac mentions is about double what you’d expect from most speakers of the same kind. You’ll also be able to combine two of these together to create a more familiar right and left stereo sound. Logitech continues to boast about other features of the device.

“UE BOOM has a versatile, go anywhere shape that makes it as spontaneous as you – it brings the music, you bring the friends.”

As for availability and pricing. The UE Boom is currently on sale in the U.S. and Europe for $199. It is also available in multiple colors. This is certainly a step up in a variety of ways from many of the current Bluetooth speakers, so if you’re in the market for one, the UE BOOM is definitely one you should consider.
