Logitech Intros G600 MMO Mouse
Peripherals giant Logitech rolled out its latest G-Series gaming mouse, this time targeting the MMORPG market. The G600 MMO gaming mouse packs a staggering 20 buttons, and is designed for games in which quick access to as many macro buttons as possible, is key.
With a design that is clearly inspired by the Razer Naga, the G600 MMO packs a total of 20 buttons in its right-oriented form-factor. These include 12 thumb macro buttons (G9~20), two central macro buttons (G7~8), the three main buttons (left, middle, right clicks), and two side-scrolling key-type buttons that can be clicked by tilting the scroll-wheel.
The 12 thumb macro buttons are divided into two sets, each with its own index bar, and uniquely shaped caps, which gradually become intuitive, and are designed to be ergonomic. Each of the 12 are labeled with illumination, and the color of the illumination can be customized from the RGB palette, using the Logitech Gaming Software application, from where you assign macro functions. The illumination's brightness, and type (eg: constant, pulse, groove, etc.,) can be customized. The mouse ships with three reference macro profiles, of which two are for popular MMOs. The mouse is clearly not meant for claw grip, and only palm grip gives you access to the thumb buttons.
Under the hood, is a razor-sharp 8,200 DPI optical sensor, with the chops to process 11.25 megapixels/second. This yields an acceleration of 25G, and 4.06 meters/second speed. The mouse uses the USB interface, with 1,000 reports/second rate. It uses a fiber-sleeved 2 m USB cable.
Measuring 118mm x 75mm x 41mm, the G600 MMO has a fixed weight of 133 grams. Its traction is care of two large teflon feet, with 0.09 µm (dynamic) and 0.14 µm (static) coefficients of friction. Its three main buttons can hold up to 20 million clicks, and the feet hold good for 250 km of wear (that's a lot).
The Logitech G600 MMO gaming mouse is expected to reach markets in July, with a price-tag of US $79.99 (SG $102.62).
