LongHorn CPU Power Management Features


Longhorn will come with ACPI 3.0 extensions that support
multi-core and multi-processor. Intel next generation dual core processor, Jonah
based on 65nm process technology will come in H2′ 05 – H1 ’06 time frame.
LongHorn will arrive around the same time with Multi-processor PPM support that
allow the switching of single and dual or multi core dynamically depending usage
to conserve battery power.
