Despite the fact that it released the new MacBook Air lineup with Intel Haswell processors back in June, Apple is yet to announce when it will do the same with MacBook Pros. A supply chain monitor believes the new laptops might be shipped in September.
Up till now the company hasn’t disclosed when it will launch the refreshed MacBook Pro lineup. Naturally, customers are waiting for the refreshed models, as Haswell processors not only offer greater performance, they also bring improved battery life. The results are evidently touted by MacBook Air. Apple claims that the 13 inch MacBook Air now offers full day battery life of up to 12 hours. Last month a report citing various supply chain sources claimed the new MacBook Pro lineup will go on sale in October. Today, there’s a contradictory report making the rounds, claiming that the laptops will be released next month.
This particular report comes from a Hong Kong based supply chain monitor called EMSOne. Manufacturers based in Taiwan have reportedly started shipping MacBook Pro components to assembly plants. The report claims that mass production of the Haswell based MacBook Pro models has already begun, if this is indeed the case, then it seems highly likely that the laptops will launch next month as rumored.
It is said that Apple might announce the updated MacBook Pros at the iPhone release event which is expected to take place on September 20th. As always, since this is a rumor from an unofficial source, we can only sit tight and hope that Apple makes the official announcement soon.
