The world anxiously waits on Apple to release the refreshed lineup of MacBook Pro laptops with Intel’s latest Haswell processors. Parts suppliers believe that these laptops might be launched in October.
Apple has already launched Haswell based MacBook Air models, they were unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference back in June. One of the advantages of having Haswell on-board is improved battery life, the 13 inch MacBook Air now boasts up to 12 hours of battery life, according to Apple. Naturally customers want the same level of efficiency from the MacBook Pro models, but the company hasn’t officially disclosed exactly when it will launch the Haswell based Pro models.
The report comes from China Times, which cites sources within Apple’s supply chain. It is said that the upcoming MacBook Pro models will retain their current price points. Other rumors suggest that the FaceTime camera on these laptops might be upgraded from HD to full HD, a slightly slimmer profile for Retina MacBook Pro has also been rumored. Recently we saw alleged benchmarks of 13 inch and 15 inch Haswell based MacBook Pro surface online, the results showed a slight improvement in performance.
As per the supply chain sources, Apple’s new Pro laptops are likely to be released in October. To be honest though, sources such as these are often not too accurate on release schedules. Nevertheless, the time-frame makes sense, the launch will take place right around the holiday season, which is something vendors try to capitalize on.
