Mach Xtreme Technology Inc. released today an improved MX-STARTER PREMIUM Series 2.5” SSD for mainstream users, aiming to satisfy those willing to migrate to SSD technology but want to do so from an affordable price point. The new MX-STARTER PREMIUM Series of SSDs is the latest addition to the Mach Xtreme lineup of solid state drives. The particular series is offering users robust data protection with enhanced hardware BCH ECC engine, StaticDataRefresh technology support and data shaping for higher data reliability. The drives also have a 64MB DDR2 cache memory installed. How about the speeds?

Speed wise, the new series is rated at 150MB/s read and 80MB/s write, with a max of 10000IOPS. Not exactly a rocket by today's standards but possibly satisfactory for mainstream users, meaning that the success of the new series entirely depends on its retail price.
